Sand Blasting in Lahore
Lahore Casting sand blasts on Mominpura Road, Lahore, on castings poured here and on parts brought in from anywhere else. Blasting strips moulding sand, mill scale, rust and old paint, and leaves the even matte surface that paint, primer, galvanising and inspection all need. Bring the part or send it in; tell us what happens to it next and which faces must be left alone.
What blasting is for
Every sand casting leaves the mould wearing a skin of burnt-on sand and oxide. Under that skin you cannot see a crack, paint will not stick, and a machinist is cutting into abrasive rather than metal. Blasting takes the skin off.
The same job on fabricated and used parts is why most people search for it: a weldment before painting, a structural section that has gone rusty, a machine part being rebuilt, a batch of components that must be clean before galvanising.
What it does to the surface
You get a uniform matte grey with a fine profile, which is exactly what a primer needs to key into. A blasted surface also shows defects honestly - porosity, cold shuts and cracks that a sand skin was hiding become visible, which is why blasting comes before inspection and not after it.
What it will not do
Blasting cuts. It removes a little material, softens sharp edges, and will happily destroy a thread, a bearing seat or a finished machined face - so tell us which surfaces are already to size and they get masked.
Thin sheet and light fabrications can distort under a heavy blast. If the part is thin, say so and the pressure comes down.
It is a cleaning and preparation process, not a coating. Bare steel flash-rusts within hours of blasting in Lahore humidity, so primer or paint should follow the same day.
What it is used for
- Castings before machining, inspection or painting
- Weldments and fabrications before primer
- Rust and old paint removal on structural steel
- Machine parts being rebuilt or refurbished
- De-scaling after heat treatment
- Cleaning before galvanising or powder coating
Not the right process for: Thin sheet that will distort, parts already finish-machined on every face, and anything that needs the mill finish left intact.
What to tell us when you ask
- What the part is and roughly what it weighs
- How many, and whether it is a one-off or a repeating batch
- What happens to it next - paint, galvanise, machine, inspect
- Which surfaces, threads or bores must be masked
- Whether the part is thin-walled or dimensionally critical
Ask about a part
Send a photo, a drawing, or just a description. Sand Blasting is offered on parts cast here and on parts made anywhere else.

- Induction Hardening — An induction coil heats only the surface of a steel part above its transformation temperature in seconds, and a quench freezes that surface hard while the core, never heated, stays tough.
- Everything else done in-house — casting, melting, heat treatment, machining and testing.
